About
Samantha Snyder is a visual artist based outside Huntsville, Alabama. Her practice blends traditional printmaking with the raw, intuitive energy of collage, creating tactile works that explore the tension between the familiar and the eerie. Influenced by her love of literature—particularly the psychological and uncanny elements in the work of Stephen King—Samantha is drawn to the liminal spaces where reality bends and memory falters. Her imagery often evokes a quiet unease, offering viewers a glimpse into altered realities or dreamlike thresholds. Originally from California’s Central Valley, Samantha has also lived in Texas and Oregon, where she taught elementary school and developed a deep interest in how we process and narrate experience, both as individuals and communities.
When she’s not in the studio, Samantha teaches art classes at the University of Alabama in Huntsville and spends time with her family. A firm believer in balance, she carves out time to relax in her hammock, soak up the sun, and, of course, dive into a good book—preferably one with a touch of horror.
